Message From Our Worship Leader

We use the word worship rather generically. In truth any time we gather together to pay homage to God, our whole service is a worship service. Which may include; a sermon, testimonies, prayer, praise, thanksgiving, and other expressions of reverence or regard for our Father in heaven, His Son Jesus or the work of the Holy Spirit.

As a worship leader I believe there are different types of music and or functions that we practice in a worship service. First of all, I know the bible does not use the term spiritual warfare, but, I believe there is a function of the worship team that qualifies in this way. If you look at the musicians in the Old Testament you will see plenty of examples of this. They went out singing before the battle. They led the soldiers, proclaiming their victory in song. We too have a battle to be won and many victories along the way. So we too should practice singing in this way. Second, there is a function I would call high praise. This of course is very energetic and full of joy unspeakable. Some might lump spiritual warfare in with this, but the key here is that it is full of praise to our Father on high. Third, there is the very tender worship where we feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in our midst and we experience God’s love for us and our love for Him. It is my destiny as, what I call a “worship warrior” to lead God’s people into any and all of these expressions of worship. One last thing, I don’t want to leave out complete silence, standing in His midst with deep, deep quiet reverence. Let’s open our hearts and see what great mysteries unfold as we lift our voices to the one who is exalted above all Gods’, His name and His word.
