MINISTRIES AT MENDOCINO CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
The Bondsmen – Men’s Breakfast
As Mendocino Christian Fellowship (MCF) is experiencing rapid growth, we are doing our level best to discover what God has for us in actions that will minister to each other and our community. As a result, we are discovering gifts and talents in our membership that lend themselves to specific areas of service. In addition to the traditional expectations of teaching and preaching, we are beginning to meet some important needs within our community. We have a Men’s Breakfast meeting at a local home or restaurant where we discuss needs that have come to our attention and that are within our reach of combined practical skills and talents. Our first project completed was the rebuilding of a dilapidated garage for a woman who has been watching her stored items becoming rain soaked and ruined because of a leaky roof, broken doors, and a dirt floor. Our job as “The Bondsmen,” for so we call ourselves, was to rebuild her garage including the construction of a wood deck floor. The Joy of working side-by-side with men of like mind and heart is very rewarding, not to mention, satisfying as we carry one another’s burdens.
As bothers in Christ, we move from assignment to assignment. We are determined to help those who need assistance and who cannot either afford to hire workers, or cannot perform the labor themselves. It just feels good to do the right thing. If you are like-minded, please come and visit us and meet the guys who are giving themselves to this ministry. The pictures of this first of many undertakings are in our “Church Life” gallery.
Website and Communications
This website is also an archive of sermons delivered by various ministers including our own Pastor, Jim Kirby. The sermon audios are updated weekly. They are available to download as well. Click here.
Worship and Music
Our Worship Leader has several wonderful gifts. She is a song writer, excellent guitarist, and gifted teacher. She plays piano and keyboard and is a trained classic musician.
Missions and World Outreach
As we recognize our privileged place in the world, we also see the need to recognize the plight of the poor around us. We have a ladies in our church who have organized an in-home sewing ministry that fashions clothing for young children in need. There are a few pictures in our Church Life gallery that show these dresses on display as a means of introducing others to the larger ministry, Samaritans Purse, by which these dresses and other items are packed and shipped. The ladies meet with other volunteers to sew together and enjoy friendships. If you are interested or would like to donate material or supplies for this ongoing ministry, please give us a call and we will introduce you to one of the group’s members. There’s always room for another volunteer!
For some time, the church leadership has had a close association with “Missions For Life” which is active in San Miguel de Allende.
Sound Engineering and Video Production
Another ongoing ministry is the Sound Engineering required for creating sermon recordings each Sunday. We have all the equipment we need, and have moved into video productions as well so will require more software skills for post production editing and distribution. We have the desire to also perform home-grown skits and plays and so will need to grow in the areas of lighting and set sound management. Part of our desire to serve the community will lead us into other ministries that will require special sound setups and so this area of ministry will be growing along with our outreach efforts. We anticipate needing technical guidance in these areas as well. So, other volunteers would be really welcome.
Prayer and Intercession
Like most church families, we pray for church direction, regional church welfare and direction, city, state, and country-wide Divine intervention and guidance.
Our ministries will form and grow as we discover more gifted individuals in our midst who have the desire to reach into our community in areas of evangelism and mercy. The church does not exist for itself. We are indebted to the lost to bring the Good News of a loving and caring God. We sincerely invite you to consider visiting the church and hopefully you will subsequently consider becoming part of our efforts to lift up Christ in every expression of ministry as it is taking form and expression here at MCF. Please see our individual ministry pages for more detail.
